My Name is Seth Thompson

Hello there, my name is Seth Thompson and welcome to my blog. I am going to do this blog to help keep those who I love updated on what is going on in my life as I serve in Jamaica this next month. Missions has been a big part of my life, and it is a passion i feel called to pursue. I have been so blessed to visit and work with the people of Jamaica, and look forward to seeing what God has in store for the island of Jamaica and this boy from the south. Please feel free to join me on this journey through this blog as I walk this road God has called me too. Thanks for all your prayer and support.

What a day!

Today was a great day.  It was warm to me, but the team that is here now has said that it has gotten cooler since I have been here.  I let them know that I brought down the cooler weather, because I am cool.  Well I usually leave out the last part of that.  We were able to get a lot of work done on the 3rd floor of the medical center and a wall out back behind the house.  I mostly made concrete and mortar all day long.  It was good, but hard work.  It was all followed with a swim in the river.  I am definitely ready for some relaxation after todays work, and it is a good thing because, don't be jealous, but tomorrow we are going to the white beaches of Negril, Jamaica.  I am super stoked and can not wait to spend some time in the water.  I will get to see Delton, the routine bus driver for the church down here in Jamaica for the first time since I have been back tomorrow as well.  I am really excited about this.  I plan to take my laptop around soon and take some pictures around the place and post them at some point, and who knows maybe I will get crazy and shoot some video to show you as well.  Thanks so much for your continued prayer and support.  God Bless!!!

I am here!!

Well, the journey begins.  I have successfully made it here to Jamaica, and the crazy thing is, no one knew that I was coming down here.  Well, they knew I was coming, but thought it was later in the year.  Things here are going well, the short time I have been here.  I have met most of the people from Dayspring Wesleyan, the team that is here now, and they have been very nice and accepting of me.  This team will be here through Saturday.  We have another team coming in from Wooster Church of the Nazarene on Friday.  Yes, that means we will have both teams on Friday and it will be a tight squeeze.  That is ok though.  I am getting ready to head off to church here shortly.  I can not wait to get back in the Jamaican services, and see God move there.  I will not be able to post any pictures this month because my computer will not recognize any pictures off my camera, so hopefully words will keep you interested.  Also, just to let you guys know, I am on the central time zone here in Jamaica.  Alright that will be all for now.  Please feel free to follow me and leave comments whenever.  I will respond as quickly as possible.  Thanks and God Bless!!
